We are a Christ-Centered Church whose mission is to:
Exalt God in everything that we do (Worship). We desire to be a place where people find fresh, creative and culturally relevant ways to express their heart to God. We envision a community continually transformed by an encounter with the Holy Spirit, where people transcend cultural, generational and ethnic boundaries to join in one voice in lifting up the name of our Savior.
Edify every believer through genuine Christian fellowship (Fellowship). We see a community of believers who give encouragement to each other, where more experienced men and women mentor the younger and where people can find accountability in the company of others. A fisherman’s net is woven together so that each strand depends on the other, so our vision of our community is one of dependence and reliance on each other’s strengths.
Educate every believer to be responsible followers of Christ (Discipleship). We envision individuals in all age groups whose dependence is on God, fueled by a desire to be like him in character and action; we want our church to be a place where people find resources and direction for their spiritual growth and encouragement; where those who are seasoned routinely mentor those who are new. In a fishing village, each citizen is trained by the more experienced villagers in the task of bringing in the catch. So is that in our community, each member is actively trained in the disciplines of the Christian walk.
Equip every believer to be ministers of Christ (Service). We believe in drawing out the best from people – in finding each one’s abilities and developing them for the good of the community. We see each person as a unique contributor to the body and value the development of those skills and talents so that only the best is consistently offered up to God. We continually strive for excellence in all areas of service and strive to do all in the name of our Lord, for his glory and out of a genuine love for him, his people, his mission and those outside of his kingdom. Not all citizens of a fishing village perform the same task – yet each individual is as critical to the other in the bigger task of bringing in the daily catch.
Extend God’s kingdom to the world around us (Missions). We envision each member actively spreading the good news of Jesus Christ’s love and life to surrounding communities through meaningful relationships, backed by the reality of a godly life and the knowledge of his Word. It is our desire to raise up missionaries from our ranks whom we can send out to further spread his word to other cities in other states and other countries. As fishermen are sent out towards the sea, we believe that are fishers of men, a people whom God can use to bring in the catch.
Evangelize every generation with Jesus Christ plan of salvation (Evangelism).
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus Christ became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of this sinful world. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to Heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort alone. All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
Holiness is to be God’s standard of living for His people. We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the world. We believe that every member of the church is divinely gifted by the Holy Spirit to play a special role in the Christian community.
We believe in water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We also believe in remembering Christ’s love for us manifested on the cross through the Lord’s Supper.
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In the bodily resurrection of the saints of God; eternal life for the righteous in a Heavenly Kingdom, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
Our mission statement is put into practice:
We believe in relational evangelism over a more impersonal approach (handing out a tract/bible or attending a big crusade). We believe that people will have an open heart towards a friend than from a stranger. The love we have for people is what will attract them to the gospel message. The most significant life changing stories of the Bible are found when Jesus engaged with people on a one-on-one approach.
Once a relationship is established, we can now verbally share our beliefs. It’s not enough to love people, they need to hear why we are the way we are. Jesus taught and preached the message of God’s kingdom wherever he went. Our Evangelism course will train people to share their beliefs through the building of relationships. The goal is to get everyone trained to be a “Contagious Christian.”
We believe that the Christian life is enhanced when believers share their Christian journey with other believers and this best happens within a small group of about 10-12 believers. Jesus had his small group of 12 disciples. This is where church life really happens. It’s in small groups that people connect and practice their gifts in building the body of Christ.
Every believer is given spiritual gifts and talents that is to be used for the common good of God’s church. We are a church community when we: Worship together, relate together using our talents and spiritual gifts, study God’s word together for the purpose of growing spiritually and finding our place of service. Our training course on finding your place of service (NetWork Class) directs the right people to plug into the right places of ministry for the right reasons.
We also believe that believers need to be educated about our biblical doctrines (Foundations Class) and practices. We conduct training classes after worship services on Sunday. We hope to offer courses within the week in the near future and integrate some of our discipleship classes into our small group meetings.
As Jesus attracted the masses of people, we believe in intentionally organizing events like: concerts and crusades to create a movement among believers to reach out in a larger scale to the non-churched community.
We believe that we are stewards of God’s church. One way we express that is by supporting the church financially through our tithes and offerings.
Network Christian Ministries believes in partnering with other Christian organizations to further build the Kingdom of God. We realize the context that our local church works in – that we are part of the larger body of believers worldwide. Here are some of the people and ministries we support and work with.
